I have a 51 year old friend who beat sarcoma 5 yrs ago. She is divorced and her daughter and son in law and 2 grandchildren live with her. Cancer reappeared this past July and she was in Johns Hopkins for 5 weeks. She had another round of chemo in Oct and now has to have her gallbladder removed so she can have a bone marrow transplant 12/31. She has a 100% match. She is an RN and was the Director of Carroll Homecare and Hospice for 12 years. She recently lost her position, but if something is available by March when she may return to work. She has won the Humanitarian award for Carroll County in the past, ran health organized health fairs at the mall and helped start Access Carroll, a medical clinic for people on low income. She now needs help. No disability check since October and is behind in house payments. She needs a new roof and carpet and the house cleaned for when she comes home from bone marrow transplant. She cries because she dreads staying in the hospital for a month alone. I have been taking her to appts at Hopkins and tomorrow she has to have another bone marrow biopsy and lumbar puncture. The medical co-pays are astronomical. Is there anyway you can help.
